This pic was sent from the red carpet committee on the left me and the right The Honourable Kim Beasley former prime minister of Australia and current Ambassador to the USA, I do not recall the name of the gentleman in the middle.

Really?? When was he PM?? I must have been asleep for a couple of years :)

Thinking of Lisa and Bella, also Doug who heard last night his second cousin Rodney passed away (like close family, Rodney lost his mother as a small child and Doug's grandmother 'adopted' him into her family). Doug is heading to Louisiana for the wake tonight and the funeral tomorrow. Rodney lived to be 92 a long life, but no matter the age we are still sad when we hear that someone has passed on.

The good news Doug visited with him less than two weeks ago so he feels good that he stopped by.
02/01/12 @ 9:49 am by kerry
Kerry Sorry to hear about dougs Second Cousin My thoughts and prayers are with him.
02/01/12 @ 10:05 am by rje53
Sorry to hear this Kerry. My thoughts go out to you both and the family!
02/01/12 @ 10:49 am by Justin Lynch
Kerry, please accept my sincere sympathy, losing a family member is always a lose in our physical being and our hearts.
02/01/12 @ 11:14 am by redtiaraprincess
My sympathy to Doug and you Kerry. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you
02/01/12 @ 11:27 am by delia
Yes Kerry...I have been so concerned for Lisa. Losing a child is just unimaginable. Sorry to hear of Dougs cousin. 92 is a long life. I can't believe my dad will turn 99 in March. Bless his soul...he has altzheimers and hardly knows where he is. Sometimes I think we can just live too long. Which makes losing little Bella even more heartwrenching.
02/01/12 @ 11:54 am by Sally Hackney
Thank you all and Sally I agree if we live long in good health great, but suffering makes it much more difficult.
02/01/12 @ 12:49 pm by kerry
Thank you Delia, he will appreciate.
02/01/12 @ 12:50 pm by kerry
Thank you Justin.
02/01/12 @ 12:51 pm by kerry
And Katharine!
02/01/12 @ 12:51 pm by kerry
92 is a feat in itself! My condolences to Doug & the family. There has to be a lot of great memories with that amount of years!
02/01/12 @ 3:44 pm by TraciiVCL
Interesting you would say that about the memories Traci. I bet Dougs cousin has left the family with many wonderful memories. Even though my poor daddy can't always remember us....he can still tell us stories about when he was young or about WW2.
02/01/12 @ 5:16 pm by Sally Hackney
Fascinating isn't it?
02/01/12 @ 9:21 pm by kerry
So sorry to hear of this loss Kerry. My prayers are with Doug and your family.
02/01/12 @ 11:08 pm by hautestuff
Yes Kerry...very fascinating. You would think with all the miracle research out there they could come up with a drug for Altzheimers. I am thinking it's probably out there in the not so distant future. When I have little memory slips it scares me to death I'm getting it early.
02/02/12 @ 9:07 am by Sally Hackney
We have so much going on these days it is easy to forget stuff everyone does it Sally!
02/02/12 @ 10:58 am by kerry
Ok Sally here is the skinny on memory that I have learned about the last little while being forced to spend a llittle time watching TV LOL. Dr Oz had the guy from Guiness world records on. This guy could memorized 52 decks of cards WOW in it self. These are the brain foods he swears by to help him retain his memory. Beets, Cashews & avacados. Now alzeimers is really inflamation in the brain which turns it to mush. Sugar & diabetes has been linked to a higher incedence of this. What I heard was we need to lower the inflamation in ourbodies to stave off this process. Memeory loss is NOT a natural part of ageing. It is how ever part of medical complications that may be due to aging. May people in my family have lived iinto their 90's and were still quick as a whip. Those folks also ate a lot differently than we do today!
02/02/12 @ 1:55 pm by TraciiVCL
Oh geez off my soap box now HA HA HA
02/02/12 @ 1:56 pm by TraciiVCL
Sorry about all those spelling mistakes oops!
02/02/12 @ 1:57 pm by TraciiVCL
Well...holy cow girl...you're just a little medical encyclopedia! I am sure my dad did not eat correctly nor did I. Mama was a true southern cook. Lot's of fat and sweets!!
02/02/12 @ 2:23 pm by Sally Hackney
HA HA HA My greatest fear is losing my mind. My mother suffered from dimentia, but it was oxeygen deprivation that caused it not Alzeimers. I think she regressed to being a teenager. It was hard to watch.
02/02/12 @ 2:37 pm by TraciiVCL
Yes...you just have to laugh some days. They just revert to little children. It just makes me cry to see him because he just looks so tiny and pitiful.

I'm still hoping around, no MRI even scheduled yet, still waiting. So glad my upcoming cakes are pick-ups. The air cast I have just makes things worse. We will see in another week if I can walk on it. Thanks for asking!

06/16/11 @ 1:09 pm by Justin Lynch
Justin, I finally ended up doing just that last night. I couldn't brush my teeth, so I took a painkiller and 30 minutes later did the teeth cleaning thing. My gum is healing but still mincemeat. No in the mood to do much at the moment.
06/16/11 @ 1:17 pm by kerry
Aww Kerry..It will heal and the pain will fade away...I hate taking painpills for anything!!! I am a anti-pill person but HONEY when the pain breaks me down to mincemeat.... I PRAY to the painkiller GODS!!LOL Hope you feel better soon...
06/16/11 @ 1:28 pm by signaturesweetskim
:( So sorry Kerry. That's one if the worst feelings to me!
06/16/11 @ 1:32 pm by hautestuff
Sounds painful! It's horrible as it effects out eating and drinking habbits too! I was chatting with a colleague in work today and she is digging out some pictures of all the royal wedding cakes over the years, if she can find them, so when she does, I'll post them on here and email you some copies.
06/16/11 @ 1:36 pm by Justin Lynch
I'm not a fan f the dentist. I am always put to sleep for any work. Teeth pain tends to radiate to everywhere on your body. Hope it goes away soon. It sounds just not fun at all :(
06/16/11 @ 2:03 pm by TraciiVCL
Sounds like some peridontal work? I had that, not fun!!!! I had lots of soup and shakes for awhile!

Kerry, sorry you are still not feeling well. Hopefully soon you will feel better.
06/16/11 @ 6:22 pm by redtiaraprincess
Wow Kerry...It must be catching...I just had an extraction today with stitches in the gum...The anaesthetic has worn off and I haven't had to hit the painkillers...though I am on amoxyllin for the infection!!! How are you feeling?
06/17/11 @ 8:36 am by delia
Still rough, have a call into my dentist to see if there is something he can suggest to alleviate the irritation. I have been swishing salt water in my mouth every hour that seems the most helpful.

Kerry this is my all time favourite! Watching it tonight made me cry AGAIN.I saw the Seekers sing it at the Burswood at their 25 year anniversary concert a few years back (might have been the same concert) when Keith Woodley first composed it...It makes me even more proud to be an Australian!
06/08/11 @ 7:24 am by delia
Yes, Delia, I ply it when I want to think about home. Last evening I was thinking about my parents and reflecting about what they would think if they knew what had happened to me. I know they would be proud. They died so long ago 1978 and 1993 respectively.

Glad everyone's safe here. Everything was East of me, but I had power outages off and on all afternoon. Came home to no power. Nothing compared to the tornado damage I've been watching on OKC news.

Sounds good Delia, on the other hand Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri are getting hit day after day and more to come the happy souls at the weather channel keep telling us -- privately I think they love it when we are having bad weather they spend full time on prime TV, they become superstars, as for CNN and their fake concern when they are burrowing/prying into people's ruined lives, missing persons or deaths really upset me

Edna, glad to see you are home safely. Flying is tiring, well actually the flying isn't so bad, it is the TSA and the layovers that make it dreary!

Why don't you all come and live in Perth Western Australia??? We have PERFECT weather here.....
04/27/11 @ 4:19 am by delia
My son and grandchildren live in Shreveport. They were scared last night with all the tornados that were just north of them. Had I known Mr V was there, I would have had them go get him and bring him over for a home cooked meal and a tornado watch party.
04/27/11 @ 6:55 am by bonnie
I got delayed for 2 hours because of the fog, it was very thick! Took off in it though, which was a little scary, but it turned out to be fine! Really tired today now, should get back into things by the weekend. Hope Mr. V makes it back safely! Keep us posted.
04/27/11 @ 8:02 am by Justin Lynch
So far this year the weather certainly has been something to contend with!!! Last evening the storm was so bad when I was out at the gym. I dang near jumped out of my skin in the vehicle when lightening struck the road in front of me. I parked and waited for it(and me) to calm down.
