An impossible question. My favorite Beatles song is usually the one I just heard. Since I just listened to "I'm So Tired" here, that's it right now :-)

Lead singer: John Robert Murphy ~ John has been singing and playing guitar for almost thirty years.John's musical interest was sparked at a very early age by The Beatles. He had taken guitar lessons as a teenager and had vocal training at Boston's Guitar Workshop. He concentrated mostly on a role as lead singer and his vocal talents were always in demand. Since 1981 he has toured and recorded with several bands (North, The Groove, The Nakidz, Poor Boy Symphony and Full Circle) in the North East region of the

US he has proved his strong vocal ability while possessing a charismatic stage presence over the years,at the same time keeping it light-hearted with appropriate, adlibbed humor. John has extensive experience in vocal recording techniques, as well as knowing how to sing live with & without, a microphone. He previously performed as "Bono" in a U2 tribute band called "Miracle Drug - The U2 Show". John has written many songs over the years. His song "I Still See You" was published in 1984 by Country Breeze Music based in Nashville TN. His songwriting style is always from the heart & applicable to anyone's situation. John Robert Murphy has been a life-long New Englander & makes his home there with his lovely wife, 4 beautiful children & their "crazy little puppy" Sugar! Their love & support are a cherished gift that few can call their own...

Yes I can picture John as Bono but country music too? He is eclectic!
09/15/11 @ 2:54 pm by Loretta Perry
I don't know where John gets his energy! He works a full time office job (that's what inspired his play), plays with Evolution & his own Celtic band, has played with others like the Gregg Rolie band and is married with 4 kids!

Bassist & vocals: Les Jansson ~ Les Jansson, had no choice in being a musician! The son of a musician whose father went so far as to name him “Les Paul Jansson”, Les began playing bass guitar at 10 years old. At that young age, he was already sitting in on Classic Rock jam sessions in his childhood living room, playing with some veteran musicians of the day. After graduating high school, Les enrolled in Five Towns College and majored in both music business and music theory, all the while playing in several b

bands & becoming a highly sought after & respected musician on the Long Island- and beyond- music scene. He writes & produces in his home recording studio & has lent his talent to many artists as a session player as well. Les joined Christian recording artists, Chalice & toured all the U.S. from 1987 to 1991 in support of their top selling Christian rock album “Take Control”, reaching #1 in the southern U.S. markets. Les joined, Tumblin' Dice & recorded with well known producer Brian Magee, who has worked with the Rolling Stones, Lita Ford, Patti Smith & many more. After an album promo tour with Tumblin’ Dice, Les quickly joined Big Mouth, a Brunnet/ EMI recording artist. The band went on to high acclaim & record sales in both Germany & Japan. Recently, while in Las Vegas, a singer performing in a band recognized Les in the audience & had the spot light put on him & told the audience of Les’s musical prowess & pedigree, saying “We have one of the best bass players in the country sitting right here in our audience tonight, Mr. Les Jansson!” (His reputation certainly preceded him!) After the show, the whole band came to take pictures, talk & trade who they knew in common stories.Playing bass in Evolution, the world most famous Journey tribute band since 2004, has taken Les all over the country & further, playing for hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic fans…a few thousand of which were at the opening night after party of “Rock of Ages” on Broadway. While still performing in Evolution today, Les has most recently joined TC Kross, a hard rocking Sony/Red recording artist whose single “Hang Over” & accompanying video is a favorite with the college crowd.

Les doesn't look nearly old enough to have so much experience! Now I also want to check out TC Kross.

Definitely check out TC Kross and her band! TC on most of the lead vocals and some guitar, Les on bass, Tom Cavanagh on guitar, Mike Edwards on drums.

TC Kross is a great band on CD and live. Les usually doesn't sing lead but he did a great job on the Foo Fighters "Times Like These" at the Village Pub

Keyboards & vocals: Lance Millard ~ Having recorded and toured with the likes of 80's rock diva "Fiona" and metal act "Angel", Lance is a busy guy. As Leader of the Elton John Tribute ROCKETMAN, Lance has logged more hours in the tribute scene than some Elvis impersonators. Originally an accomplished drummer, he took on the keyboards a few years ago and progressed at an unbelievable pace. Having studied piano and voice under the instruction of front man Dave DeFeis of metal band "Virgin Steel", Lance is also a

09/15/11 @ 2:52 pm by Loretta Perry
As far as I know they haven't played together for a while. I saw them at Jones Beach before I had seen Evolution so I had no idea Lance and Les were in both bands. Lance makes a great Elton... a very different performance from his work with Evolution as you can imagine! Guitar: Adam Holland ~ Three major record deals, two major publishing deals, MTV videos, national tours, network television spots, magazines, numerous endorsements…It is easy to say that Adam Holland is a veteran to the music industry. Adam picked up the guitar at age 11 and has been writing and performing songs ever since. By high school he was playing the Long Island club circuit several nights a week. After High School he majored in music at a local college. Wanting to get more involved in the music indu

industry, Adam moved into New York City and enrolled at New York University where he began to intern at Columbia & Polygram Records. This led to a job at the firm of JLM public relations, working with bands such as Duran Duran, Iggy Pop, Yanni & Icehouse. During this time Adam began to form the band Valentine. With a strong focus on songwriting & a brief move to LA; major management, label & publishing deals soon followed. Valentine was signed to Columbia Records & went into the studio with producer Neil Kernon (Hall and Oates, The Romantics, Dokken) Adam signed on with Warner Chappel as a writer at this time. Personnel changes at Columbia forced the band off of the label.?Fortunately their A&R person moved to Giant Records taking Valentine with him. Along with the release of their debut record and video on MTV, Valentine also wrote & performed songs for the movie "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter Is Dead" Starring Christina Applegate. After many issues with Giant Records & personnel changes within the group, the band reformed as Open Skyz. A new deal with RCA Records soon followed & the band headed back to LA, into the studio with producers Ritchie Zito (Eddie Money, Cheap Trick, Heart, Cher) & Rob Jacobs. (Don Henley, The Eagles, U2) After two singles, a US tour & more personnel changes at RCA, the band was once again without a label. Weary after almost a decade of music industry ups & downs, jumping from label to label to label, the members of Open Skyz went their separate ways. With the birth of his daughter Zoë, Adam took some time off to enjoy regular family life. Combining his passion for music & computer-based recording, Adam also began doing sound design work for a software company called Bitheadz that made Mac based software samplers. Then through a series of friends & music business relations, Adam soon started to explore the musical world of Nashville. He was soon introduced to Roger Murrah at Murrah Music, where he has been a staff writer for many years. Adam currently lives in New York City where he continues to write, produce & perform.

09/15/11 @ 2:47 pm by Loretta Perry
The rainout really bummed me out but the band members were such good company. We hung out with them for about an hour, waiting for the play-or-not decision to be made whoever was in charge. It's too bad they wouldn't let them start playing early... we would have gotten an hour of great music!

The rains came to Camp Jefferson about half an hour before Evolution, a tribute to the band Journey, was supposed to hit the stage. According to Art Bonito, head of the event's sponsor, the Jefferson Highlights Summer Concert series, it was far too late at that point to move the concert to an indoor venue. So they waited. And they waited and waited, until about 9:15 p.m., when the rain let up enough for the band to go on. However, the dry break didn't last for long, with the rain starting again in earnest about 10 minutes later. The band trudged on for about an hour, then determined that they had to call it quits because the rain was coming down too hard. Even with tents covering part of the stage, the performers and instruments were getting too wet, they said. Bonito said that the concert committee was working on getting Evolution to return for a date in the fall, so that concert goers could see the full show.
09/15/11 @ 3:23 am by catanna
