Hello gang. Well today is definitely a milestone....I turn 65 years old today. It's the first one that's really bothered me. Of course...medicare get's you ready a few months in advance by sending you all the info to tell you..."Yes...you are officially an old fart and now you have papers to prove it!" I was so indignant I almost sent them back. May as well just settle into it I guess....the alternative isn't so appealing. Hope you all have a great day!!

I agree Tracii, my father neer saw anything I did in cake, he died in 1978 long before I ever got into cake. My mother saw the beginning but died in 1991, so they never saw what happened to me.

We do a lot of the trunk-or-treats at festivals too, but we did let the kids walk around our neighborhood for a bit too. Wasn't as crowded as last year. A group of adults rang our bell at 10pm last night!

Wow Carla! This is awesome!!! YOu do such a great job with your painting! You need to paint a couple of murals on your kids' bedroom walls and then take out an ad for mural painting. Bet you could do REALLY well with that in your area.

oh, and fyi, you could paint them on those cheap canvas painters drop clothes so that they can be hung on the wall, then taken down and another one can be put up.... THEN you don't have to worry about leaving the kids... can do it in any room of your house at anytime. ; ))

I used to do that Jayne! I started doing denim jackets when I was in school and I then moved onto murals. I had painted all the kids rooms when they were babies!!

Sounds a bit dramatic uh?! Lol. Well I've been offered a bunch of teaching hours which I've said yes to, but my heart isn't in it, or I don't think it's right just now! I have been thinking what if this or what if that? I would love to settle into this position eventually, but now I feel is not the time! I've asked for time off next year too, June till October, so I can what I want to do. This is a difficult decision, as by turning this down might back fire on me maybe?

That all sounds like sage advise Justin. Sometimes we just go with our gut and sometimes our gut was wrong. BUT sometimes it's right. Guess that's just called "life". You seem like a very grounded young man...so I know you'll make a decision that works for you...but if for some reason it isn't....you'll be strong enough to deal with what's around the next corner. Lot's of people are pulling for you!!!
